The brief
A hearing care directory for every state and city, built from the federal registry.
People looking for hearing care usually search by place: an audiologist near them, a hearing test in their city, a hearing aid center they can drive to. Dr Auditory gives those searches a destination across the country, with 15,286 audiologists, hearing instrument specialists, and hearing aid centers on 51 state pages and 1,688 city pages, and a profile for every listing.
The same visitors arrive with questions: whether Medicare covers hearing aids, what a hearing test costs, whether to see an audiologist or an ENT first. Twenty-two plain-English guides across hearing loss, hearing tests, hearing aids, tinnitus, ear health, and coverage answer them, and directory pages link to the guides people read before booking.

SEO strategy & experience
Public data, published carefully.
Build from the public registry
Listings come from the CMS National Plan and Provider Enumeration System, September 2026 release. Organization records at the same address under the same name are merged, then the audiologists and hearing instrument specialists practicing there are attached. Clinics, ENT practices, and hearing aid centers are labeled, and directory pages name the source and data date.
Publish only pages worth visiting
A city gets its own page once it has at least three listings. Listings in smaller towns appear on their state page, so every profile stays reachable without near-empty pages. The directory doesn't claim services the registry doesn't record, such as tinnitus programs or hearing aid brands.
Keep 17,000 pages fast
The site is a static export, and interactive code ships only on the four pages that need it: provider search, the hearing self-check, listing claims, and contact. Everything else is plain HTML, which took a clinic profile from 111 KB to 43 KB. Sharded XML sitemaps, MedicalBusiness and breadcrumb structured data, and an llms.txt index help search engines and AI assistants read the directory.
