Roofing SEO for Roofers Who Want Their Own Leads

Homeowners choose a roofer from the map listings, a page about their town and the reviews. Verlua builds and runs all three for roofing companies across the U.S.

What is Roofing SEO?

Roofing SEO is the work that gets a roofing company found on Google when a homeowner nearby searches for a repair, a replacement or a storm inspection. It covers the three places that homeowner looks: the map listings at the top of the page, the regular results below them, and the pages on your website those results open.

Verlua is a roofing SEO company that does that work for you. We set up and maintain your Google Business Profile, write a page for each roofing service in each city you actually work, build a steady flow of reviews, and fix the technical problems that hold a site back. Launch months run $2,500/mo, then ongoing SEO is $1,500/mo.

It fits roofing companies that want more of their work to come from their own listing and website instead of paid lead sources.

How homeowners search for a roofer

Roofing searches come in two kinds. Urgent ones, like a leak after a storm or shingles in the yard, happen on a phone and end in a call to one of the first companies listed. Planned ones, like a full replacement or a switch to metal, take days: the homeowner compares three or four roofers, reads reviews, looks at photos of similar roofs and checks the license.

Both kinds name a place or let Google infer it from “near me.” Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and prominence. You can’t move your shop closer to every customer, so the work goes into the other two: telling Google exactly what you do and where, and building the reviews, links and mentions that make your company well known.

  • roof leak repair near me

An urgent call. Your map listing with hours and a phone number, and a repair page that loads fast on a phone.

  • roof replacement cost

Early research. A cost page with the real price drivers in your area, financing options and a quote form.

  • hail damage roof inspection

A homeowner after a storm. A page that explains the inspection, the insurance claim and how soon you can get there.

  • metal roofing contractor near me

A material decision. A metal roofing page with photos of your metal jobs, panel options and the cities you install in.

  • best roofers near me

A comparison. Reviews, license, warranty terms and finished-roof photos on your Business Profile and your website.

The map pack and your Google Business Profile

For a search like “roof repair near me,” Google usually shows a map with three local businesses above the regular results. Those listings come from Google Business Profiles, not websites, and on urgent roofing jobs they get the first look.

Most roofers are service-area businesses: the crew goes to the customer, so the address can stay hidden. Google lets a service-area business list up to 20 service areas and asks that the overall area stay within about two hours of driving from where the business is based. It also does not permit extra words in the business name, and doing it anyway can get a profile suspended.

  • Primary category set to the most specific match, with secondary categories for the other work you do
  • Every service listed with a short description: repairs, replacements, inspections, gutters, metal, tile
  • Service areas that match the cities your crews actually drive to
  • Photos from real jobs added through the year, not one upload at setup
  • Name, phone, hours and website identical everywhere they appear

Service pages for each city you work

Your home page can’t rank for roof replacement, roof repair, storm damage and metal roofing in fifteen different towns. Each of those searches needs a page that answers it: what the job involves, what drives the price, which materials hold up in that climate, and how to get a quote.

We build a page for each service you sell, then a page for that service in each city where you have real work to show: local job photos, the neighborhoods you cover, permit notes and reviews from customers there. Every city page links to your other services in that city and to the same service in nearby cities, so visitors and Google can move through the site.

Copying one page and swapping the city name is a different thing. Google’s spam policies name pages “targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page” as doorway abuse, and sites that break those policies may rank lower or drop out of results. We only build the city pages that have something real to say.

Storm season, insurance work and Local Services Ads

Roofing demand follows the weather. After hail or a windstorm, searches like “storm damage roof repair” and “roof inspection for insurance” climb in the affected area, and homeowners call the companies that already rank. A page published the week after a storm is usually too late for that storm, because new pages take time to be found and ranked.

So the storm and insurance pages go up before the season: what hail and wind damage look like, how an inspection works, how a claim runs with the adjuster, and when to call for emergency tarping. They answer the questions homeowners ask in the first hour, and they keep earning visits between storms.

Local Services Ads are the paid listings at the very top. Google lists roofing as an eligible category, charges when a potential customer contacts you through the ad, and shows a Google Verified badge. They stop when the budget stops. SEO is the part that keeps working without a per-contact fee, and the two can run side by side.

Reviews, licensing and proof that close the job

A new roof is one of the bigger checks a homeowner writes, so the final choice comes down to trust. Google says prominence draws on how many reviews you have and how many websites link to you, and that more reviews and positive ratings can help local ranking. The same reviews do the selling once someone opens your listing.

We set up a review request that goes out the day a job wraps, with a direct link to your Google review form, and draft replies for every review, good or bad. On the website, your license number sits on every page with a link to your state’s lookup (in California, that is the CSLB license check), next to insurance details, manufacturer certifications, warranty terms and photos of finished roofs.

Work you can check yourself

Verlua has not run SEO for a roofing-only company yet, so here is the closest work. 916 Exteriors is an exterior remodeler whose new site includes a roofing page and a roof replacement cost guide for each of its 12 core Sacramento-area cities; it launched in September 2026 and is too new to show search results. Colfax Glass and NorCal Earthworks are local contractors with Google search growth you can check, and Boise Gutter Guards is a gutter contractor site built around service and area pages.

Roofing SEO questions

What is roofing SEO?

Roofing SEO is the work of getting a roofing company to show up on Google when nearby homeowners search for roof repair, replacement or storm inspections. It covers the Google Business Profile that appears in the map listings, the pages on the company’s website, reviews, and the technical health of the site.

How much does SEO for a roofing company cost?

At Verlua, roofing SEO runs $2,500/mo during launch months, when we fix the site, clean up the Business Profile and build the core service pages. After that, ongoing SEO is $1,500/mo. A common plan is $2,500/mo for the first 2 months, then $1,500/mo. Exact pricing depends on scope, competition, and timeline. These figures reflect what we typically quote for local service businesses; every engagement is confirmed after a free audit or discovery call.

How long does roofing SEO take to work?

There is no fixed date. Profile fixes and technical repairs happen in the first weeks. New service and city pages then need to be found, indexed and ranked, which takes longer in big metros with many established roofers than in smaller towns. You get a monthly report showing calls, form leads and rankings by city, so you can judge progress yourself.

Is SEO better than Local Services Ads for roofers?

They do different jobs. Local Services Ads sit at the top of the page and charge when a potential customer contacts you through the ad, so they bring calls quickly but stop when the budget runs out. SEO builds your map listing and website pages, which takes longer to pay off but carries no per-contact fee. You can run ads for immediate volume and SEO for the long run; the two don’t conflict.

Do you work with roofing companies outside California?

Yes. Verlua is based in Roseville, California, and works with roofing companies anywhere in the U.S. Everything in roofing SEO can be done remotely except verifying your Google Business Profile, which you complete directly with Google.

Can you guarantee my company the top spot in the map pack?

No. Google itself says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, and map results shift with the searcher’s location, so the same search can show different roofers a few miles apart. What we commit to is the work: the profile, the pages, the review system and a clear monthly report on what moved.

Do I need a new website for roofing SEO?

Not always. If your current site is fast, works on a phone and lets us add pages, we build on it. If it is slow or hard to edit, a rebuild usually comes first and is handled during the launch months. One-time website builds are also available at $2,500 – $5,000.

Is Verlua a roofing marketing agency?

Verlua is a roofing marketing agency focused on Google: SEO, your Business Profile, reviews, and the website that turns a search into a call or a quote request. The goal is leads that come straight to you rather than through a lead marketplace.
