12 Contractor Website Examples, With Screenshots

A laptop, tablet and phone showing three contractor websites built by Verlua: Sacramento Gutter Guard on the laptop, 916 Exteriors on the tablet and Valley Decks on the phone
The best contractor websites answer three questions on the first screen: do you do my job, do you come to my town, and how do I get a price. Below are 12 real, live contractor websites, from gutter crews to an ADU builder, each with a desktop and phone screenshot. We built all 12, so we can tell you why each first screen looks the way it does, and what we'd still change.

TL;DR

We captured 12 contractor websites on October 22, 2026. All 12 name their service area on the first screen, 10 show a phone number, 7 put an estimate form there, and 7 pin call and estimate buttons to the bottom on phones. Colfax Glass went from 265 to 1,346 Google clicks between two 90-day windows (Google Search Console).

Want a site like these for your company? Verlua builds contractor websites for $2,500 – $5,000. No minimum contract.

What Should a Contractor Website Show on the First Screen?

A contractor website should show what you do, where you work and the fastest way to get a price, all before anyone scrolls. The first screen gets most of the attention: Nielsen Norman Group's eye-tracking research (2018) found people spend about 57% of their viewing time above the fold.

Homeowners also land on these pages from a phone, often while looking at the problem. Unbounce's 2024 Conversion Benchmark Report found 83% of landing page visits came from mobile devices. That's why every example below has a phone screenshot too.

How we picked and captured these 12 sites

  • Every site is live and built by Verlua. That's a bias, and we're stating it up front. It also means we know what each page was built to do, and we include what we'd change.
  • Homepage, first screen only. Each loaded on October 22, 2026 at 1440x900 on desktop and 390x844 on a phone. Offers and photos change, so the live page may differ.
  • Home-service trades only. Gutters, glass, painting, lighting, remodeling, excavation, tree care, pool removal, decks and ADUs, across the Sacramento area and Boise.
  • Claims on the sites are the sites' own. We describe ratings and stats as they appear and don't repeat numbers we can't check.

Gutter Company Website Examples

Gutter sites sell a seasonal, low-attention job, so they make the first step as small as possible. Two of the three below open the form with tap-to-pick service buttons instead of blank fields. The third skips the form and puts a cost calculator in the menu.

1. Sacramento Gutter Guard: A Two-Step Form That Starts With Buttons

Gutters and gutter guards · Sacramento, CA · sacramentogutterguard.com

Sacramento Gutter Guard homepage on desktop: the headline "Gutters built for Sacramento weather" over a craftsman house, a call button, and a two-step estimate form that starts with six service buttons
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Gutters built for Sacramento weather," under an eyebrow that names the trade.
Offer
"Free on-site assessment. Fixed written price. No obligation." printed under the form button.
CTA
"Continue" inside the form, and a separate call button for people who would rather talk.
Proof
A Google rating badge and a top bar listing the four counties served.
Form
Step 1 of 2: pick a service from six buttons, including "Not sure yet," then type an address.
Phone
A bar pinned to the bottom of the screen with "Call now" and "Free estimate."

What to copy for your own site

  • Open the form with buttons, not blank boxes. One tap on "Gutter Repair" starts the lead and tells the estimator what to bring.
  • Write the offer as three short promises under the button. "Fixed written price" answers the fear of a surprise bill.

2. Rocklin Gutter Guard: Two Towns in the Headline

Gutter guards and cleaning · Rocklin and Roseville, CA · rocklingutterguard.com

Rocklin Gutter Guard homepage on desktop: the headline "Gutter Guards & Gutter Cleaning in Rocklin & Roseville," Get Free Estimate and call buttons, and a green two-step estimate form
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Gutter Guards & Gutter Cleaning in Rocklin & Roseville": both services and both towns.
Offer
A free estimate. The note under the form promises a reply within the hour during business hours.
CTA
Orange "Get Free Estimate" and "Call (916) 415-3836" buttons side by side.
Proof
Three small lines under the buttons: no-pressure consultations, a written warranty, locally owned in Rocklin.
Form
The same two-step pattern as example 1: service buttons, then an address.
Phone
Both buttons stay full width under the headline, and a bottom bar repeats "Get Free Quote" and the number.

What to copy for your own site

  • If you work two neighboring towns, name both in the headline. People search the town they live in.
  • Say how fast you call back, and keep the promise. A reply-time line is cheap proof that someone is actually there.

3. Boise Gutter Guards: A Cost Calculator in the Main Menu

Gutter installation and guards · Boise, ID · boisegutterguards.com

Boise Gutter Guards homepage on desktop: the headline "Gutter Installation, Replacement & Gutter Guards in Boise, ID" over a house with a work truck, a Get a Free Estimate button and the phone number, with Cost Calculator and Cost Guides in the menu
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Gutter Installation, Replacement & Gutter Guards in Boise, ID," with the towns served listed in the next line.
Offer
"Free on-site estimate · No-pressure quote · Same crew start to finish."
CTA
An orange "Get a Free Estimate" button and an outlined phone button.
Proof
A thin top bar of trust items, and a work truck in the hero photo.
Form
None on the first screen. "Cost Calculator" and "Cost Guides" sit in the main menu instead.
Phone
A call icon sits in the header next to the menu, one tap from anywhere on the page.

What to copy for your own site

  • Put pricing in the menu, not just on a blog post. A calculator in the nav tells visitors you don't hide numbers.
  • "Same crew start to finish" answers a worry people have about subcontractors without naming anyone.

Roofers can borrow the same structure: a service picker that starts with "Repair, replace or inspect?" and a cost section people can read before they call. Our roofing website design page covers how we build that, and how to get more roofing leads covers where the traffic comes from.

How Do Remodeling and Exterior Contractor Websites Show Range?

Contractors who offer several services have a harder first screen: everyone has to see their job without reading a list. The four below each solve it differently: icons, a rotating hero, a headline that lists the services, and a single photo of the finished product.

4. 916 Exteriors: Every Service as an Icon Under the Headline

Exterior remodeling · Sacramento area, CA · 916exteriors.com

916 Exteriors homepage on desktop: the headline "Built Right. Built to Last." with a row of eight service icons, a list of Sacramento-area communities, and a Request an Estimate form on the right
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Built Right. Built to Last." The trade and area sit in the eyebrow above it.
Offer
A reviewed estimate: "Tell us about the work. We'll review the details and contact you about the next step."
CTA
"Request an Estimate" in the header, the hero and the form.
Proof
Eight service icons (siding to decks) and a list of the communities served.
Form
Four fields: name, phone, ZIP and type of work, which defaults to "Not sure yet."
Phone
A full-width estimate button under the headline, then a photo of a finished exterior.

What to copy for your own site

  • If you do many trades, show them as icons right under the headline so a siding customer knows they're in the right place.
  • List your towns on the first screen. It answers "do you come out here?" before anyone has to ask.

How it was planned and built: 916 Exteriors case study.

5. Colfax Glass: Two Phone Numbers, Labeled by Region

Windows, doors and glass · Placer County, CA and southern Oregon · colfaxglass.com

Colfax Glass homepage on desktop: two phone numbers in the header labeled Northern CA and Southern OR, and a hero slide reading "Energy-Efficient Windows Built to Last" with Get a Free Quote and Call Us buttons
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
A rotating hero. The first slide reads "Energy-Efficient Windows Built to Last."
Offer
A free quote, repeated in the header button and the hero.
CTA
"Get Estimate" in the header; "Get a Free Quote" and "Call Us" in the hero.
Proof
Three stat tiles under the buttons and a row of trust icons below the photo.
Form
None on the first screen. Both phone numbers sit in the header, each labeled with the region it serves.
Phone
Both numbers stay visible under the logo, and a bottom bar holds "Call Now" and "Get Free Quote."

What to copy for your own site

  • Serve two areas? Label each phone number with the region it covers so nobody calls the wrong office.
  • Keep the call button as visible as the quote button. For glass repair, a lot of people just want to talk.

How it was planned and built: Colfax Glass case study.

6. ProFlow Painting: A Reply Time Promised Inside the Form

Interior and exterior painting · Sacramento, CA · proflowpainting.com

ProFlow Painting homepage on desktop: the headline "Professional Painters in Sacramento, CA" listing interior, exterior, cabinet and commercial painting, with a Get your Sacramento quote form on the right
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Professional Painters in Sacramento, CA," followed by the four kinds of painting the company does.
Offer
A free quote, with "We respond within one business day with a real next step" under the form title.
CTA
"Get my free Sacramento quote" in the form; "Get a free quote" and a call button in the hero.
Proof
The founding year in the eyebrow and a one-paragraph promise about prep, two coats and a final walkthrough.
Form
Name, phone, email, address or ZIP, service (defaults to "Not sure yet") and an optional notes box.
Phone
A bottom bar with the phone number and "Get Free Estimate," plus a chat button.

What to copy for your own site

  • Name what's included in the job, not just the job. "Careful prep, two-coat coverage, a final walkthrough" is a promise people can hold you to.
  • Put the town in the button text. "Get my free Sacramento quote" quietly confirms you work there.

How it was planned and built: ProFlow Painting case study.

7. EXT Lighting: The Product Is the Hero Photo

Permanent outdoor lighting · Sacramento, Roseville and Rocklin, CA · extlighting.com

EXT Lighting homepage on desktop: the headline "Permanent Outdoor Lights" over a night photo of a two-story house lit along its roofline, with Get Your Free Quote and View Our Work buttons
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Permanent Outdoor Lights." The cities served are named in the paragraph under it.
Offer
A free quote, plus the product pitch: app-controlled lights that stay up year-round.
CTA
"Get Your Free Quote," with "View Our Work" as the outlined second option.
Proof
The night photo itself, and a strip with the warranty and star rating.
Form
None on the first screen. The phone number sits in the header.
Phone
A round orange call button floats in the bottom corner.

What to copy for your own site

  • If the result is visual, make it the hero photo. A lit roofline at night sells better than any sentence about LEDs.
  • Make "View Our Work" the second button. People buying something decorative want to see more before they ask for a price.

General contractors and remodelers face the same problem at a bigger scale. If that's you, see how we approach contractor website design, including which services get their own page.

Excavation, Tree and Pool Removal Website Examples

These jobs can't be priced without seeing the site, so the pages sell the estimate visit instead of a number. Each one explains why: access, permits, soil, the trees themselves. That turns "we can't quote over the phone" from a brush-off into a reason to book.

8. NorCal Earthworks: A Short Form and a Detailed One

Demolition, excavation and land clearing · Sacramento area, CA · norcalearthworks.com

NorCal Earthworks homepage on desktop: the headline "Building Better From the Ground Up" over an excavator clearing land, a call button, and a Tell us about your project form on the right
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Building Better From the Ground Up," with "Sacramento Demolition · Excavation · Land Clearing" above it.
Offer
A free estimate with a same-day response, stated under the form title.
CTA
A call button in the hero and "Get Free Estimate" in the form.
Proof
A top bar listing free estimates, same-day response, permits and utilities reviewed, and project references on request.
Form
Name, phone, address or ZIP, service and an optional notes box, with a link to a more detailed form.
Phone
The call button goes full width, and a bottom bar keeps "Call" and "Free Estimate" in reach.

What to copy for your own site

  • Offer a short form and a detailed one. A homeowner clearing a lot and a builder with plans need different first steps.
  • Use the top bar for the things buyers check: permits, utilities, references. They matter more than a slogan.

How it was planned and built: NorCal Earthworks case study.

9. 916 Trees: "Calling Is Faster," Said Right Under the Form

Tree trimming and removal · Sacramento, CA · 916trees.com

916 Trees homepage on desktop: the headline "Tree Trimming, Removal & Pruning in Sacramento," a phone button, three cards about free estimates, four counties and emergency response, and a Get a free estimate form
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Tree Trimming, Removal & Pruning in Sacramento": the three services and the city.
Offer
Free, site-specific estimates, "priced to your actual trees and access, not a flat rate or a phone guess."
CTA
"Get My Free Estimate" in the form and a phone button in the hero.
Proof
Three cards: free site-specific estimates, four counties covered, emergency response available.
Form
Name, phone, property address and service. Under the button: "About 30 seconds. We'll call you back within one business day. Calling is faster."
Phone
A bottom bar with "Call" and "Free Estimate."

What to copy for your own site

  • Tell people how long the form takes and when you'll call back. Then point urgent jobs at the phone.
  • Explain why you won't quote over the phone. "Priced to your actual trees and access" turns a limitation into a reason to book.

How it was planned and built: 916 Trees case study.

10. Pool Removal Guys: A Scope Quiz That Pre-Fills the Estimate

Pool removal · Sacramento area, CA · poolremovalguys.com

Pool Removal Guys homepage on desktop: the headline "Pool removal, properly planned." over a backyard where a pool sits beside a new lawn, with Request a Site Estimate and Compare Removal Options buttons
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Pool removal, properly planned." The eyebrow names greater Sacramento.
Offer
A site estimate, with "the scope and next steps in writing."
CTA
"Request a Site Estimate," with "Compare Removal Options" as the second button.
Proof
A before-and-after in one photo: the old pool beside new lawn.
Form
Just below the first screen: three questions (pool type, future plans, ZIP) that pre-fill the estimate form.
Phone
Both buttons go full width under the headline.

What to copy for your own site

  • For a job people only buy once, help them pick the option first. "Compare removal options" is the question they arrive with.
  • Ask the scope questions as a quiz, then pre-fill the form. The estimator gets the details and the visitor feels like they're getting answers.

How it was planned and built: Pool Removal Guys case study.

How Do Deck and ADU Builder Websites Handle Big-Ticket Jobs?

A deck or a backyard unit is a planned purchase, and most visitors aren't ready to talk yet. Both sites below give those visitors something to do first: price the deck, or check whether the lot qualifies. The estimate form is still there for people who are ready.

11. Valley Decks: A Real Offer and a "Price My Deck" Button

Deck building · Boise and the Treasure Valley, ID · valleydecks.com

Valley Decks homepage on desktop: an offer bar for $500 off a deck build and a free 3D layout, the headline "Custom decks built for Boise and the Treasure Valley," a Price my deck button and a Get a deck estimate form
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Custom decks built for Boise and the Treasure Valley," with four towns in the eyebrow.
Offer
"$500 off your deck build + a free 3D layout," in the top bar and again on the form.
CTA
"Get my deck estimate" in the form, and "Price my deck" in the hero, which opens a cost calculator.
Proof
A rotating photo of a finished deck, and a paragraph about building for Idaho frost, snow and permits.
Form
Name, phone, ZIP and service. Under it: "Prefer to talk? Call or text," and a note that the form doesn't book an appointment.
Phone
The finished-deck photo comes first, and a "Message us" button floats at the bottom.

What to copy for your own site

  • Give people who aren't ready a way to price the job themselves. A calculator catches the visitor who would never fill out a form yet.
  • Say "call or text." A lot of homeowners would rather text a contractor than talk during work hours.

How it was planned and built: Valley Decks case study.

12. Boise ADU: A Free Lot Check Instead of a Quote

ADU building · Boise and the Treasure Valley, ID · boiseadu.com

Boise ADU homepage on desktop: the headline "Boise's ADU Builder," Get a Free ADU Lot Check and View Boise ADU Plans buttons, the towns served, the builder's Idaho license line, and a strip with plan count and pricing model
Site built by Verlua. Desktop (1440x900) and phone (390x844) first screens, captured October 22, 2026.
Headline
"Boise's ADU Builder," with a paragraph on what you can build, what it may cost and which plan fits.
Offer
A free ADU lot check, not a quote. It's the first question every ADU buyer has: can I build one here?
CTA
"Get a Free ADU Lot Check," with "View Boise ADU Plans" as the second button.
Proof
The towns served, the builder's Idaho contractor license number, and a strip about pre-approved plans and pricing.
Form
None on the first screen. The lot-check button opens it.
Phone
A bottom bar with a call icon and the lot-check button.

What to copy for your own site

  • For big, slow purchases, offer the first answer instead of a price. "Can I build here?" is easier to say yes to than "get a quote."
  • Print your license number where people can see it. It's checkable, which makes it stronger than "licensed" on its own.

Do These Contractor Websites Get Found on Google?

Six of them have enough Google Search Console history to compare two 90-day windows, and all six gained clicks. The table uses the same data as our home service marketing page. These are search clicks, not leads or booked jobs.

Source: Google Search Console, web search, full property totals, retrieved October 8, 2026. 916 Trees had no search data in the earlier window. NorCal Earthworks first appeared in search in May 2026, so its baseline is small.

The first screen doesn't earn those clicks. The pages behind it do: a page for each service, local cost guides, and content about the area's weather, permits and soil. The first screen's job is to turn the click into a call. For the search side, see our roofing SEO page and the other trade SEO pages linked from it.

Patterns That Show Up Across These 12 Contractor Websites

Naming the service area is the only pattern all 12 share. A phone number on the first screen comes next (10 of 12), then an estimate form and a pinned call bar on phones (7 of 12 each). Counts come from the captures on October 22, 2026; the "why" column is sourced where a study exists and marked observational where it doesn't.

Patterns found on the first screen across 12 contractor website examples
PatternHow manyWhy it works
Service area named on the first screenIn the headline, the eyebrow above it or the line below it12 of 12Observational: people search the town they live in, and a named area answers "do you come out here?" before they look for a contact page.
Phone number on the first screenMissing on 916 Exteriors and Pool Removal Guys10 of 12Most landing page visits happen on phones: 83% in Unbounce's 2024 benchmark. A tappable number is a one-tap lead.

The first step should sit where the attention is.
Call and estimate buttons pinned to the bottom on phonesSacramento Gutter Guard, Rocklin Gutter Guard, Colfax Glass, ProFlow Painting, NorCal Earthworks, 916 Trees, Boise ADU7 of 12Observational: on a phone the header scrolls away, so the bar is the only contact option that never leaves the screen.
A section on cost on the homepageRocklin Gutter Guard, Boise Gutter Guards, NorCal Earthworks, 916 Exteriors, Valley Decks, Boise ADU6 of 12Observational: price is the question most visitors have and the one they're least likely to ask a stranger on the phone.
A section on local weather, trees or terrainSacramento Gutter Guard, Rocklin Gutter Guard, Boise Gutter Guards, 916 Trees, 916 Exteriors, Valley Decks6 of 12Observational: it's the content a national competitor can't write, and it shows the crew knows the area.
"Not sure yet" as a service optionSacramento Gutter Guard, Rocklin Gutter Guard, 916 Exteriors, ProFlow Painting, Valley Decks5 of 12Observational: homeowners often don't know the trade term for their problem, and a forced choice sends them back to the menu.

What Would We Change on These Sites?

Four fixes stood out when we looked at all 12 side by side on October 22, 2026. None needs a redesign. A list of examples that only praises its own work isn't much use, so here they are.

  • 916 Exteriors and Pool Removal Guys show no phone number on the homepage. Both lean on forms because each job needs a site visit. A tappable number in the header would still catch the people who won't fill out a form.
  • Colfax Glass's first slide doesn't name a town. The towns appear lower on the page. A short eyebrow above the slide ("Colfax, Auburn and the Sierra foothills") would fix it on every slide at once.
  • EXT Lighting calls itself "Sacramento's #1 rated." A superlative with no source is easy to doubt. We'd swap it for the review count and a link to the reviews.
  • Boise Gutter Guards has no form on the first screen. Its calculator does that job for some visitors. We'd test a one-field ZIP form in the hero against the current layout.

Which Example Should Your Trade Copy First?

Start with the example closest to how your customers buy, not the one closest to your trade. Urgent jobs copy the phone-first pages, planned jobs copy the calculators, and multi-service companies copy the icon row. Here's where we'd start for six common trades.

  • Roofers: the service-picker form from Sacramento Gutter Guard (repair, replace or inspect) and a cost section like Boise Gutter Guards'. More in roofing website design.
  • HVAC companies: 916 Trees' line about calling being faster, and a pinned call bar for no-heat and no-cool calls. More in HVAC website design.
  • Plumbers: Colfax Glass's labeled phone numbers and bottom call bar, because most plumbing jobs start with a call. More in plumber website design.
  • Electricians: Boise ADU's license line under the buttons. Homeowners hiring for electrical work want to know who is accountable. More in electrician website design.
  • Landscapers: EXT Lighting's finished-work hero photo and Valley Decks' "price my project" button. More in landscaping website design.
  • Pest control: a "Not sure yet" service option like ProFlow Painting's, since people often don't know what pest they have. More in pest control website design.

Speed matters for all six. In Deloitte's Milliseconds Make Millions study (2020, commissioned by Google), a 0.1-second mobile speed gain lifted retail conversions by 8.4%. A contractor's homepage isn't a store, but the visitor on a phone in the driveway is just as impatient. For more first-screen layouts outside the trades, see our landing page examples.

Frequently Asked Questions About Contractor Websites

How much does a contractor website cost?

Verlua builds contractor websites for $2,500 – $5,000, with no minimum contract. What moves the price is page count and tools: a five-page site with one estimate form sits at the low end, while city pages, cost guides and a price calculator push it up.

What pages should a contractor website have?

Start with a homepage, one page per service, an about page with real photos, a project gallery and a contact or estimate page. Add a page for a town only when you have something specific to say about it. Most sites here add a cost section too: six of the 12 homepages have one.

Should a contractor website show prices?

Show a range if you can defend it. Six of these 12 homepages have a cost section, and Valley Decks lets visitors price a deck before anyone calls. A range filters out people who expected half the price, and it answers the question most people are too polite to ask on the phone.

Is a phone number or a form better for a contractor website?

Offer both, and make the phone number tappable. Ten of these 12 sites show a number on the first screen, and seven put an estimate form there. On phones, seven pin a call button and an estimate button to the bottom of the screen so both stay in reach while people scroll.

Does a contractor website need a page for every city?

Only where each page says something true and local. 916 Exteriors has a page for each service in each core Sacramento-area city, paired with local cost guides. Pages that only swap the town name tend to be treated as thin by Google, and they don't help a homeowner decide anything.

Want a contractor website built on these patterns?

Verlua designs and builds websites for home-service companies: your service area named up front, a short estimate form, a tappable phone number and pages that load fast. Builds run $2,500 – $5,000. No minimum contract.
