Website redesign & SEO case study

Valpro Attorney Services

A rebuild of a Sacramento process serving and court filing company's website, made for the law firms and attorneys who send it work from anywhere in California.

The brief

A statewide process serving site where every request starts online.

Valpro serves summonses, subpoenas and other legal papers, files with courts, retrieves documents and handles California Secretary of State filings for law firms across all 58 counties. The old WordPress site had hundreds of near-identical city posts from years ago, and blog posts that never pointed readers to a service.

The new site is built on Next.js around how attorneys actually look for help: by service and by the county or city where someone needs to be served. Every page leads to the same online Service Request, the term Valpro already used with its clients, where the attorney picks the service, the location and Standard or Rush, then attaches the documents.

Each city page opens with local details and a service request already set to that city, so an attorney can start the request from the page they found.

SEO strategy & experience

Built for the attorney who needs papers served today.

A real page for each place Valpro serves

46 county pages and 317 city pages each carry local details: the county, population, ZIP code areas, the office and the nearest local phone line. City pages that couldn't be made genuinely useful are kept out of Google's index instead of padding the site. Service pages, court filing pages and guides on California service rules round out the site.

Make the request the easy part

The Service Request takes the documents as PDF, Word or image files and emails the team and the client a confirmation. Uploaded legal documents sit in private storage and are deleted from the site within 48 hours, because a process server's website shouldn't hold onto court papers. The phone number, office hours and request button stay in view on every page.

Launch without losing what already ranked

Before the switch, every address from the old site was mapped to its closest new page, and all 7,954 were tested on the live domain after launch. The new sitemap was submitted to Google the same day. Four older market domains Valpro owned now point to the matching pages on the main site instead of competing with it.

The strategy in practice

Explore the search entry points.
